Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology organized techno- Management Fest “Carnival 2018” on 20th&21st February 2018.On 20th February,the inauguration of the national level mega event – Carnival XVIII was graced bythe Principal RIET Dr. Saroj Hiranwal and the Dean of Academics Professor Kapil Dev Sharma by welcoming the Chief Guest Dr Udaykumar. R Yaragatti, Director MNIT,Jaipur and Guest of Honor DrAvinashPanwar, Director CEG,Who lit the lamp and declared the commencement of the ceremony. All the HODs of respective departments along with faculty members were a part of this event.
The inaugural ceremony witnessedon this day, some heartwarming performances put up by the specially-abled children of Disha Foundation, Nirmannagar, Jaipur – an NGO working towards the betterment of special children. A performance was held to exhibit the hidden creativity within the little gifts of God.

Chief Guest Dr Udaykumar. R Yaragatti gave a very inspirational and interesting speech on ancient scientific technology comparing them to the modern day inventions&trends. He called upon the youth of RIET to respect their teachers and seniors. He reminded all about our Indian forces guarding on the borders of the country so that the nation can live peacefully.
Guest of Honor Dr AvinashPanwar, Director CEG, encouraged the students and congratulated everyone on the occasion. He emphasized on the fact that cultural and technical fests like this are very important in the lives of the students. This gives them a chance to show their talents and develop self confidence.
Principal RIET Dr. Saroj Hiranwal said that in the next 2 days event, a Colorful combination of around 36 technical, cultural, literary, creative and fun events under the name of Technothon, Spectra, Siyahi and Zealiconwill bring a change in the air ofthe college. Twenty-five hundred students from more than 100 colleges across Jaipur are expected to participate in the Carnival and prizes of worth Rstwo lakhswill be distributed to the winners and runner-ups. She thanked the chief guest anc guest of honor for their presence in the inaugural function.
Speaking on the occasion Principal RIET Dr. Saroj Hiranwal also added that where academic subjects are important for the students to learn, to enhance their knowledge and do justice to their career, there are activities related to co-curricular subjects that give them pleasure, meticulousness and perseverance to do more. All the students have some in-born talent in them. By presenting these talents on stage, they build confidence, courage, leadership qualities and certitude to win.
In his vote of thanks on this occasion Dean Academics & Admin, Professor Kapil Dev Sharma thanked the chief guest and guest of honor for being a part of this carnival 2018. He said that in order to exercise the students and endorse healthy competition, these activities are conducted from time to time. He also mentioned that it has been observed that students who participate in co-curricular activities have a marked improvement in academics. This can be attributed to skills they learn such as better time management to accommodate their hobbies and studies, better organizational skills and a boost in their self-esteem. Skills learnt such as debate can be applied in the classroom too, as the students learn how to express themselves better.
The inaugural ceremony was concluded with the national anthem.
