FIRST YEAR ORIENTATION PROGRAMME PRARAMBH 1st to 14th, AUGUST, 2019
Day 1
The Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology conducted its Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’ for the freshers (1st year students) from 1st to 14th August, 2019. The students were welcomed by Tilak ceremony at the entrance and then their registration was done.
On the 1st day (1st August 2019) the session started with the lamp lightening by the chief guest on this occasion, Prof (Dr)Roshan Lal Raina, Vice chancellor J K Laxmipat University Jaipur and a Renowned professor. The occasion was graced by Principal RIET Dr. Saroj Hiranwal, Prof. Kapil Dev Sharma, Dean Academics, Dr. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET, Prof D D Johri, Advisor T&P, along with all the respective HODs and faculty members.
Principal RIET Dr. Saroj Hiranwal welcomed all the newcomers and told them about the forthcoming orientation programme. She wished them all the best for their new academic session.
Speaking on the occasion Prof (Dr) Roshan Lal Raina, Vice chancellor J K Laxmipat University Jaipur,blessed all the new comers on the occasion and said that education system has had many reforms and changes. The youth need to develop themselves accordingly. He said that India needs many more Engineers for the complete development of this country. He highly praised the college and its management team. He urged the students to utilize this opportunity to be good engineers and learn all that is offered to them.
The vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET.
After the first part of the programme, hi-tea was served for all the students and guests, and this was followed by Introduction and overview of the college,by Advisor T&P, Prof D D Johri. In his presentation, Prof Johri informed the newcomers about the institution in details.
The Chit-chat and ice breaking session was taken up by Ms Savita Jangid, Asst Prof MBA, and Ms Priya, Asst Prof MBA. In this session the students interacted among themselves and with the faculty members also.
After lunch, a session was taken up by Prarabdh Sharma, III year student CSE. This session was regarding information of all clubs, sports events and extracurricular activities.
The nest session was taken up by Dr. Sachin Sharma, Vice Principal, RIET. He spoke to the students on “Engineering and its Career Prospective”. In his presentation he mentioned about various aspects of engineering services and its importance in today’s fast moving technical environment.
The newcomers highly enjoyed the sessions and adjourned the day with eager anticipation for the forthcoming events of the induction symposium.
The day ended with a happy note.
Day 2
On the second day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 2.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
The first session of the day was taken up by Col J S Lamba, Motivational Speaker and Eminent Social Worker. He gave a presentation on “Skillful Learning and Self Development”. He shared his experience about his long defense career with the new students and also told them how important is Discipline and Etiquettes in their lives. He also distributed some handouts among the students regarding skillful learning.
This was followed by chit-chat session-2, which was taken up by Ms Priya, Asst Prof MBA. This session was mainly for the students to express their “First Day Experience in RIET”. Many students sang songs and some spoke about their experience in the college.
The next session on this day was taken up by Dr (Prof) Uday kumar R Yaragatti Director of MNIT Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur and Professor (on-lien) at the Department of Electrical and Electronics, National Institute of Technology Karnataka. He spoke to the students about the ancient and modern trends in Engineering. He emphasized that the vedic scriptures have all the information of what the modern scientists are inventing. Dr Uday kumar gave a very inspirational and interesting speech on ancient scientific technology comparing them to the modern day inventions & trends. He called upon the youth of RIET to respect their teachers and seniors. He reminded all about our Indian forces guarding on the borders of the country so that the nation can live peacefully.
The last session of the day was sports activities. Activities like Volleyball, Football, Basketball and Cricket were the highlights of the session.
The students enjoyed all the sessions and had a very nice time playing various games and interacting with each other.
The day ended with a happy note.
Day 3
On the Third day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 3.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
The session on this day was IOT TRAINING PROGRAMME. The experts on this day were the technocrats from TECHINEST Jaipur.
TechieNest is ISO certified organization; it is technology service provider and training organization. They facilitate education, research and development program; all under one roof for various colleges. The expert team members were Mr Himanshu, Mr Asish and Ms Divya.
Principal RIET, Dr Saroj Hiranwal said that, the internet of things, or IoT, is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. It is very essential that engineering students should know about this technology.
Apart from 1st year students also the 2nd year and 3rd year students also participated in the training session.
The day came to a closure with the notes of the patriotic National Anthem. All the students enjoyed a lot on this day.
Day 4
On the Fourth day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 5.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus conducted by Ms Priya Gupta, Asst Prof. Dept of MBA. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
The first session on this day was Expert Talk on “MS OFFICE”. This talk was given by Mr Alok Singh, HOD MCA, RIET. The students learnt a lot in this session. They also had a hands-on practice in the computer lab.
The second part of the day was a session in which Chairman RIET Kunwar Bheem Singh ji addressed the newcomers. Principal RIET Dr Saroj Hiranwal also participated in this session. The students highly appreciated the lively session. Chairman RIET Kunwar Bheem Singh ji wished the budding engineers all the best for their forthcoming years of education in the institution.
Next session was group activityX-Factor: “Show Your Talent”, conducted for the newcomers. In this activity students had the opportunity to show their talents in various fun activities. The students enjoyed a lot performing and watching their peers perform various activities. The session was mainly of dance, singing and cultural activities. The senior students of RIET and the Rhythm group also put up their performance.
The day came to a closure with National Anthem. All the students enjoyed a lot on this day and looked forward for the next interesting sessions.
Day 5
On the Fifth day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 6.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
The first session on this day was “Overview of R&D CELL RIET” This session was taken up by Mr Harish Maheshwari, Asst Prof Dept of EE and Mr Mahesh Jangid Asst Prof Dept of ME.
In the next session “Quiz” contest was held for the students, which was enjoyed by all. This session was taken up by the II year students.
In the last session the students enjoyed a game of treasure hunt.This session was taken up Ms Malvika Upadhyay, ATPO and Dr Sonika Sharma, HOD 1st year.
The day ended with National Anthem and a happy note. The students look forward to the interesting events to take place in the next few days.
Day 6
On the 6th day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 7.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus conducted by Ms Priya Gupta, Asst Prof. Dept of MBA. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
The main attraction of this day was “JAIPUR TOUR”. The new students were thrilled beyond words for this exciting event.
The new technocrats filed up into two buses along with seven faculty members and set off for the day long tour cum picnic.They were told about the city Jaipur; ‘The Pink City’ is a major tourist center of the country. The city is packed with many attractions like beautiful and glorious forts, world famous theatres, gorgeous temples and many more. As a tourist one will is awestruck with the beauty of the monuments in the city. Flamboyant and vivacious bazaars bustle with attractive stuff.
Dr Sonika Sharma, Dy HOD 1st year told the students about the city. She educated them that Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II invoked the artisans from all over the world and facilitated them with all the things they required, to help in creating the exotic city of beautiful architecture as Jaipur is today.
The first stop was the “JalMahal”. The students were mesmerized by the beauty of this place. The faculty members told the students about this beautiful place.One of the most magnificent palaces, JalMahal is also recognized as the Water Palace. Built in 1799, JalMahal Palace was built in Man Sagar Lake enclosed by the Nahargarh Hills. The palace was once used for the imperial duck shooting parties. The first four floors of Jal Mahal are under water and only the top floor is higher than the water level.
JalMahal is on the way to Amber, at a distance of about 6.5 km from the city. It looks so majestic and romantic in night, where the beauty of the palace is enhanced with colorful lights installed. The mirror image of the palace in the lake, gives it a panoramic view. The lake environment is even a preferred home of a number of migratory and resident birds too.
The students enjoyed the panoramic view and clicked many pictures.
The next stoppage was Amer Fort. The students were informed about the history of this monument. The fort was built for the residence of the Maharaja & the royal family which today, stands as a monument to us. Amber was the capital of the Kachhwaha clan. And it is sited 10 km from Jaipur city. It was the residence of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The fort was established keeping in view the desires of the ruler.
Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khaas, Ganesh Pol, Jaleb Chowk, Singh Pol, Jai Mandir, Yash Mandir, Sukh Mandir, Sheesh Mahal (hall of mirrors), Suhag Mandir, Shila Devi temple, Bhool Bhulaiya, and Zanana Dyodhi (women’s apartments) are major attractions of the palace. This astonishing fort was accomplished in two centuries by consistence efforts of three consequent kings following Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Amongst all Sheesh Mahal is legendary, mirror work done is so inimitable, and it is so artistically set that even a tiny ray use to fill the hall with light. Kesarkyari and Maotha Lake adds a charm to the Royal Palace.
The students were taken around the entire place and this tour for them was not just enjoyment but also very informative. They were able to see the extensive engineering works of the era gone by.
A picnic lunch was served to all the students and faculty members in the Amer fort garden which was enjoyed by all.
Here again many pictures were clicked and the students interacted with each other and the faculty members as well.
En-route to the Jal Mahal and Amer fort the students saw the Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds, or also called Palace of the Breeze, is one of the important places to visit in Jaipur. Built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1798, Hawa Mahal is a five-storey extension in the form of a honeycomb. This unique building has 953 small windows, called Jharokas, decorated with intricate lattice work. The entire palace represents the crown of the Hindu God, Lord Krishna.
Speaking on the occasion Principal RIET Dr Saroj Hiranwal said that the importance of tour for college students can be better understood by the fact that it helps break the monotony of college life. It helps students’ minds explore the unknown, and provides immense happiness and a sense of satisfaction. In addition to this, it also helps teachers meet certain objectives of the curriculum by designing tours suitable with specific requirements.
The day came to a closure with National Anthem. All the students enjoyed a lot and learnt a lot on this day and looked forward for the next interesting sessions.
Day 7
On the Seventh day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 8.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus conducted by Ms Priya Gupta, Asst Prof. Dept of MBA. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
In the first session on this day a video on article 370 was shown to the students. The speech given by the MP of Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namagyan in the Lok Sabhaon 6.8.19.on the motion to revoke special status given to Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakhunder Article 37 was the highlight of this video.
The second part of the day was a session by Ms Priya Gupta, Asst Prof. Dept of MBA. She gave a session on Importance of Human values and Ethics. Why are Human Values important in the lives of human beings.
Next session of the day was taken up by Prof (Dr) D S Hooda, who is a renowned professor from G J University, Hissar, Haryana. Dr Hooda spoke about “EFFECTIVE STUDY HABITS AND QUALITIES FOR SUCCESS”. He is a great mathematician and renowned professor of the subject. He is also a member of the RIET BOG. RIET is proud to announce that he has been bestowed with the BHARAT RATNA DR ABDUL KALAM GOLD MEDAL by Global Economic Progress & Research Association on 20th July 2019 at Bangaluru.
The next session was taken up by the Sangharsh Group (Drama Group). The members told the freshers about Sangharsh and its activities. They also put up a play.
The next session was Mentor & mentees Interaction. The freshers were
informed about the mentorship concept of the college and its importance. The students also filled up the mentorship forms. This session was conducted by Dr Sonika Sharma Dy HOD Applied Sciences and Mr Ravi Jain, Asst Prof Mathematics.
The next session was “Indoor Games” taken up by the 2nd year students for the freshers. Games like Carom, Chess, TT, Ludo, and some fun games were also conducted.
The next session on this day was an expert talk by Dr Annapurna Bhargava. DrAnnapurna is a Professor from Rajasthan Technical University Kota. She is a highly qualified professor with M.Tech from IIT Delhi and P.hd from IIT Rourkee. She gave a discourse on “Personality Development” and how to be a successful person in life.
The day came to a closure with National Anthem. All the students enjoyed a lot on this day and looked forward for the next interesting sessions.
Day 8
On the Seventh day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 9.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus conducted by MsPriya Gupta, Asst Prof. Dept of MBA. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
The first session of the day was taken up by Prof (Dr) D S Hooda, who is a renowned professor from G J University, Hissar, Hareyana. DrHooda spoke about “SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL VALUES OF MATHEMATICS”. He is a great mathematician and an internationally renowned professor of the subject. He is also a member of the RIET BOG. RIET is proud to announce that he has been bestowed with the BHARAT RATNA DR ABDUL KALAM GOLD MEDAL by Global Economic Progress & Research Association on 20th July 2019 at Bangaluru.
The next session was taken up by Prof D DJohri, Advisor TPO. His topic of discussion was “INDUSTRY EXPECTATIONS FROM ENGINEERS” which was an interactive session. He quizzed the students regarding general awareness on the subject and gave away prizes to all those who answered well. The students enjoyed a lot in this session.
The next session was taken up by Dr Monika Shekhawat, T&P Head and HOD Dept of MBA. Her topic of discussion was “OVERVIEW OF TRAINING AND PLACEMENT DEPATRMENT ACTIVITIES”. She informed all the students about the T&P activities.
The next session on this day was movie show. The students saw the Hindi movie “Uri”.
The day came to a closure with National Anthem. All the students enjoyed a lot on this day and looked forward for the next interesting sessions.
Day 9
On the Ninth day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 10.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus conducted by Ms Priya Gupta, Asst Prof. Dept of MBA. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
In the first session the students were briefed the importance of yoga and meditation by yoga & meditation exerts Mr Deepak Choudhary and Ms Geetanjali Rajawat from Kaivalyadhama. This Yogic Health Centre since its inception in 2015 is actively working on promotion of traditional yet scientific Yoga of Swami Kuvalyanand, through various academic and non-academic activities across Rajasthan.
The next part of the day was a session by Mr Mukesh Vyas, Founder and Director of Winner Academy of Excellence, which is well known for Recruitment, training and management consultancy.
The next part of the day was a session by Tree plantation. Principal Riet Dr Saroj Hiranwal was accompanied by all the HODs, faculty members and students of 1st year and 2nd year. Everyone was highly enthusiastic to plant new trees which were planted in the college campus.
Next session of the day was a video show by Ajay Sharma, II year CSE student. This video was a virtual tour of Jaipur city and also of RIET College. This was highly appreciated by all the students and the faculty members as well.
Next session of the day was state representation. In this part the students put up their performance showing the culture of various states.
The day came to a closure with National Anthem. All the students enjoyed a lot on this day and looked forward for the next interesting sessions.
Day 10
On the Tenth day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 13.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus conducted by Ms Priya Gupta, Asst Prof. Dept of MBA. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
In the first session the students were briefed about the Examination Schemes and syllabus. This session was taken up by Prof Shikha Choudhary, Associate Professor and HOD MCA.
The next part of the day was a session by MrArunSinghal, MD Accenture. He told the students about the company and also about the job trends in the market
The next session was by DrSonika Sharma. Dy HOD, First year. She told the students about the oncoming session. The various subjects, Labs, extracurricular activities and other information related to the curriculum of the college were discussed.
Next session was taken up by Ms Malvika Upadhyay, ATPO, she told the students about their journey from school to college. What all is expected of them and what they should do to be successful.
Next session of the day was out door games for the students. Games like cricket, football, volleyball was organized for them which they enjoyed fully.
The day came to a closure with National Anthem. All the students enjoyed a lot on this day and looked forward for the next interesting sessions.
Day 11
On the Eleventh day of the Orientation Programme ‘PRARAMBH 2019’, i.e 14.8.19, the day started with Reporting, Assembling and Morning Prayer in the campus conducted by Ms Priya Gupta, Asst Prof. Dept of MBA. All the new students collected in the auditorium for the full day session.
In the first session the students participated in sketching competition. Topics were-1) Environment, 2) Independence Day, the students had to choose any one topic and prepare a drawing. All the students participated enthusiastically and later on the faculty members checked their sheets. Awesome imaginations of the students were observed.
The next part of the day was Departmental visit. In this the students visited the departments and interacted with their HODs, Faculty members and seniors.
The next session was ‘indoor games’ organized by the II year students. This again was participated by all.
Next session was taken up by Prof Vijaya Chakravarty, Associate Professor, Department of Humanities (English).This was an overview of all days of orientation programme “PRARAMBH” from 1st to 14th August 2019. All the activities were discussed and the photographs were shown to them all. The students spoke about their experience of these few days.
The day came to a closure. All the students enjoyed a lot on this day and looked forward for the academic session to be started from 16.8.19.
